What does WA Lookup verify?
WA Lookup offers three products: ws (registration check, 1 credit), ws_avatar (registration + avatar URL, 2 credits), and ws_business (registration + Business account type, 2 credits). Every check is synchronous and returns in the same HTTP response. It does not check online status, last seen, or message history.
How are credits charged?
Registration checks (ws) cost 1 credit. Avatar (ws_avatar) and Business account (ws_business) checks cost 2 credits each. Credits are purchased once — no subscription — and are refunded if the check fails or the result is undetermined.
How do the signup credits work?
Create a free account and you receive 20 credits immediately. Use them for registration, avatar, or Business account checks in the dashboard or API.
How do I call the WA Lookup API?
Create an API key in Settings, then POST to /api/v1/check with the X-API-Key header, a phone number in E.164 format (e.g. +14155552671), and a service_type of ws, ws_avatar, or ws_business. The endpoint returns a synchronous JSON response.
